TOEFL TIP: Create a User Name and Password
When you register online, first select the Sign Up link, set up your profile and then create a user name and password.
Your profile is basic data such as name and address. Spell your name exactly as it appears on the Identification Documents you will present at the test center.
Here's how to create a user name and password that's easy to remember:
- Your user name must be 6 – 16 characters long and use letters or numbers
- Don't use special characters such as: @ $ # %
- Use a sequence of letters and/or numbers familiar to you but no one else, such as kia899GY. Avoid names and colors that are easy for others to guess.
For a password, use 8 – 16 characters. You must include 1 uppercase letter (A-Z), 1 lowercase letter (a-z) and a number (0-9):
- Passwords are case sensitive and must be retyped exactly as submitted, such as Jojo777i.
- Use only English characters
- Do not use your user name, first name or last name in your password
Write down your user name and password and save them in a familiar place. Or copy them and save them in Notepad as a text file and store it on your PC.
After you complete these steps, you're ready to register.
