CIO and Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Rebecca Pfund brings more than two decades of hands-on experience in information systems, information technologies and IT production operations to her current role as CIO and Senior Vice President, Information Technology at ETS. As such, Pfund oversees all aspects of ETS's IT organization, including strategy, architecture, design, development, production support, infrastructure, operations, information security and compliance and enterprise resiliency. Pfund's organization also encompasses functions such as portfolio management, talent management, resource management, business relationship management and IT communications.
The scope of the systems that Pfund's organization supports ranges from unique assessment-related applications that define ETS as a leader in the educational assessment solutions market, as well as operational and business-support systems that ETS uses to operate and manage its business. In addition, Pfund is accountable for ensuring that ETS provides its clients and partners with timely access to performance-related information that they require to deliver high-quality services to their customers.
Previously, Pfund held the position of Vice President of IT Production, where she defined what production means at ETS, understood and mitigated the company's production vulnerabilities, and guided the continuous improvement processes in production. Prior to that, she held the position of General Manager for Demand & Relationship Management within IT, where her responsibilities included focusing on a continuous improvement model, the development of an integrated business support team, and alignment of roles and skills in the technology organization to obtain optimal results. She helped to define and create Business Relations and Demand Management organizations, as well as established best practices within Business Relations to promote effective communication aimed at creating efficiencies and increasing process standardization.
Before coming to ETS, Pfund held a variety of positions at Donovan Data Systems Inc., including Executive Vice President and Director of Product Development (1998–2006). She also previously served as a management consultant with Andersen Consulting (1984–1989), where she managed components of multimillion dollar projects for Fortune 500® companies.
Pfund earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and education from Swarthmore College.
ETS has assisted the NAEP program in introducing numerous psychometric and assessment design innovations over the years.
