As ETS's Senior Vice President of the R&D Division, Ida Lawrence is responsible for strategic, tactical and financial oversight of all functional areas within the Division, including Research; Statistical Analysis, Data Analysis and Psychometric Research; and Assessment Development.
Lawrence began her career at ETS in Statistical Analysis, where she designed and directed measurement work for the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) and the SAT. Before assuming her current position, she served as Executive Director of the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT programs, Director of Program Research in R&D and Vice President of the Assessment Development Division.
She also serves on the board of Every Child Valued, a community-based, academic afterschool and summer program designed to strengthen families and improve students' academic performance.
Lawrence earned a B.A. in psychology from Barnard College, as well as an M.A. and a Ph.D. in educational psychology from New York University.
