Welcome to the website for the PIAAC Invitational Research Conference on "The Importance of Skills and How to Assess Them." This conference is being organized by ETS with support from the OECD. It will take place shortly after the release of the results for the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), and will focus on these findings.
This conference will be held in Washington, D.C., and will begin the evening of November 13, 2013 with a welcome session and reception, followed by two days of meetings, and culminating in the afternoon of November 15, 2013 with a panel discussion. Please note that there is a 200 person attendance limit for the conference.

In addition to the PIAAC conference, the IEA-ETS Research Institute (IERI) will be conducting a workshop on using the PIAAC international databases and related data tools. This workshop will also be held in Washington, D.C., from Monday, November 11, 2013 through Wednesday, November 13, 2013. This workshop is limited to 50 participants. Please note that there is a US$250 registration fee to attend this event. In order to ensure a spot, register early.
