Offering Teacher Candidates Greater Convenience with Computer-delivered Testing

The Praxis™ program continues to roll out Praxis tests by computer in order to provide candidates with increased convenience. With computer-delivered testing, users get access to an expanded network of more than 440 computerized test centers and faster score reporting.

By August 2012, 46 test titles will be available by computer, including three multi-subject tests that comprise an additional 11 subtests. The rollout to computer will continue through the 2012–13 testing year, with an additional 18 test titles moving to computer.

• English Language, Literature, and Composition: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5041)
• Fundamental Subjects: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5511)
• Social Studies: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5081)

June 2012

• English Language, Literature, and Composition: Content and Analysis (Test Code 5044)
• Health Education (Test Code 5550)
• Mathematics: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5061)
• Social Studies: Content and Interpretation (Test Code 5086)

July 2012

• Principles of Learning and Teaching: Early Childhood (Test Code 5621)
• Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades K–6 (Test Code 5622)
• Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 5–9 (Test Code 5623)
• Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7–12 (Test Code 5624)

August 2012

• Physical Education: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5091)
• Health and Physical Education: Content Knowledge (Test Code 5856)

Candidates can find the complete list of computer-delivered tests by visiting the Praxis website or by logging into their Praxis account and searching for a test by zip code, state of certification or real-time seat availability.
