About the EXADEP™ Test
Examen de Admisión a Estudios de Posgrado™ (EXADEP™) is a paper-and-pencil test that measures verbal, quantitative and analytical reasoning skills, which are important for success in graduate school.
Four sections of the test have multiple-choice questions (in Spanish) that test vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, mathematics, analytical reasoning and written expression. Section five of the EXADEP test, which measures vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension, is given in English.

Who Should Take the EXADEP Test?
Spanish-speaking students who are applying for admission to graduate, professional or scholarship programs (e.g., Fulbright or Project 1000).
How are EXADEP Test Scores Used?
Graduate schools and scholarship programs in Puerto Rico, Latin America, Spain and U.S. mainland institutions receive EXADEP scores and use them to:
- supplement undergraduate records
- provide a uniform measure for comparing applicants
- aid in evaluating grades and making recommendations
- screen applicants for scholarship programs
