Teacher and Leader Effectiveness
The Florida and the Islands Regional Comprehensive Center (FLICC) will engage in building state capacity to develop a systemic approach to evaluation that will lead to improved student achievement. FLICC will work with the Virgin Islands Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (VITaLE) Task Force, appointed by the U.S. Virgin Island Department of Education (VIDE) Commissioner, to develop an evaluation system that is aligned with major initiatives, including Education System Improvement Process and those outlined in the Consolidated Grant Application. The projected time frame for this project is three years (2012–2015). For more information, please see the U.S. Virgin Islands Teacher and Leader Effectiveness System (VITaLE).
FLICC will engage in building VIDE capacity to implement, monitor and report on progress of the U.S. Virgin Islands five-year Strategic Plan. FLICC will provide strategies to effectively implement the plan at the state and district levels and monitor yearly progress on programs and activities that will align with the Consolidated Grant Application (CGA) evaluation process. For more information, please see the U.S. Virgin Islands Strategic Plan.
Consolidated Grant Application (CGA)
FLICC will engage in building state capacity to provide sustained support to districts and schools throughout the CGA cycle. Technical assistance will be collaboratively planned and provided as supplemental funding programs are reviewed and strategic approaches to developing an approved CGA are implemented and embedded throughout the VIDE to improve district and school performance. For more information, please see the U.S. Virgin Islands Consolidated Grant Application.
