GRE® POWERPREP® II, Version 2.2 Software Installation Instructions for Mac® Users

Before You Begin

Before you install POWERPREP® II, Version 2.2, make sure your computer system meets the minimum system requirements.

Download the POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software for Mac Users

If you have problems downloading the software, see the Downloading/Installation section of the POWERPREP II Frequently Asked Questions for guidance.

To download the software, follow these steps:

  2. The POWERPREP II.pkg downloaded is saved under Downloads.

Install the POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software

If you have problems installing the software, see the Downloading/Installation section of the POWERPREP II Frequently Asked Questions for guidance.

To install POWERPREP II (for Mac® System Users), follow these steps:

  1. Go to Finder→Downloads and double click on the POWERPREP II.pkg file to install the application.

  2. Mac installer for the pkg file is invoked. The Introduction panel is the first install screen encountered.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Welcome to the Power Prep II Installer. This install wizard will install the Power Prep II software on your computer. Click Continue to proceed with the installation. There are two buttons with the following labels. Go Back and Continue.

  3. After selecting Continue, the Read Me file is displayed which lists the basic MacOS requirements for the application to run smoothly. Select Continue to proceed with the install.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Important information. The Power Prep II software for Mac O S requires: Mac O S 10.7 or later and Java 1.6 (obtained via Apple Software Update). Note: The installation or launch of Power Prep II on a Mac may prompt for the installation of Java S E 6. This installation is required for the application to work as expected. Four buttons are shown with the following labels. Print. Save. Go Back and Continue.

  4. On the End User License Agreement page, carefully review the software license agreement and then click Continue.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Software License Agreement. The Power Prep II Software License Agreement is partially shown.   5. Select Agree on the pop up to agree to the terms and continue the installation. User must accept the terms of the agreement to install the software.

    A pop up window is shown over the License Agreement window. The following information is provided. To continue installing the software you must agree to the terms of the software license agreement. Click agree to continue or click Disagree to cancel the installation and quit the Installer. Three buttons are shown with the following labels. Read License. Disagree and Agree.

  6. For some users, depending on the OS X, an extra panel 'Select a Destination' is included as part of the Standard Mac installation. Click on the option Install for all users of this computer to enable the Continue button, and select Continue to proceed with the installation.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Select a Destination. How do you want to install this software? Install for all users of this computer (this option is selected). Installing this software requires 33.6 MB of space. You have chosen to install this software for all users of this computer. Two buttons are shown with the following labels. Go Back and Continue.

  7. The Installation type displays the disk space that will be used by the application.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Standard Install on Macintosh HD. This will take 33.9 MB of space on your computer. Click Install to perform a standard installation of this software on the disk Macintosh HD. Three buttons are shown with the following labels. Customize. Go Back and Install.

  8. Select the Customize button to display the default installation path.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. Custom Install on Macintosh HD. A check box labeled Applications is selected. Space required; 33.9 MB. Remaining: 981.3 GB. Three buttons are shown with the following labels. Customize. Go Back and Install.

  9. Select Install and input the Admin Name and Password. After you enter the Admin Password, select Install Software to start the install.

    A pop up window is shown over the Installation Type window. The following information is provided. Installer is trying to install new software. Type your password to allow this. Two data entry fields are shown. The first field is labeled Name. The second field is labeled Password. There are two buttons labeled Cancel and Install Software.

  10. The Installation progress bar will be displayed. Once the installation is complete, the Summary panel will be displayed.

  11. Select Close on the Summary panel to close the Standard Mac installation panel.

The following information is provided in the main portion of the window. The installation was completed successfully. Please note that a folder names Power Prep II has been created in your computer’s Applications folder for convenient access to the application. You may access this folder via the Finder under Applications. In that folder, you will find shortcuts to start the application and to useful documentation. Verify that Java S E 6 is installed. If you need to install this version of Java, browse to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and search for Java S E 6. From the search results, you can download and install the correct version of Java S E 6 for your Mac. Two buttons are shown with the following labels. Go Back and close.

Start POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software

Once the POWERPREP II application has been installed, launch it by double-clicking the 'POWERPREP II.app' under Finder ... Applications ... POWERPREP II.
