GRE® POWERPREP® II, Version 2.2 Software Installation Instructions for PC Users

Before You Begin

Before you install POWERPREP® II, Version 2.2, make sure your computer system meets the minimum system requirements.

Download the POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software for PC Users

If you have problems downloading the software, see the Downloading/Installation section of the POWERPREP II Frequently Asked Questions for guidance.

To download the software, follow these steps:

  1. Click this button:

  2. Click Save when prompted.

    For Internet Explorer browser versions 7, 8, 9 and 10, this message prompts: "Do you want to run or save this file?" Click Save.

    A security warning message box is shown. The message box provides the Name of the file. The type of file and where the file originated from There are three buttons with the following labels. Run. Save. Cancel. Below the buttons there is a warning that some Internet files can be harmful to your computer.

    Browse to your computer Desktop, and click Save.

    We strongly suggest that you save the downloaded file to your Desktop so you will be able to find it easily after the download is complete.

    Although you can click Run to start the installation process without downloading, we recommend that you first download and then install the software.

    A message box shows the progress of the download.

    For Internet Explorer browser versions 9 and 10, this message is displayed at the bottom of the page:

    A message box is shown with the following message. Do you want to run or save POWER PREP I I V 2 underscore 2 dot e x e (83.0 MB) from e t s v c m 0 2 dot e t s dot org? There are three buttons with the following labels. Run. Save. Cancel.

    Click Save, and select Save from the menu choices that appear.

  3. When the download completes, click Close.

    A download complete message box is shown. The message box provides the Name of the file. A progress bar and information about the download progress and destination. There are three buttons with the following labels. Run. Open Folder and close. Below the buttons there is a message indicating that the download is safe.

Install the POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software

If you have problems installing the software, see the Downloading/Installation section of the POWERPREP II Frequently Asked Questions for guidance.

To install POWERPREP II, follow these steps:

  1. On your computer desktop, double-click this icon (which opens the installation software you just downloaded):

  2. Do not be concerned if you see a security warning. It is safe to install the POWERPREP II software.

    For Internet Explorer browser versions 7, 8, 9 and 10 you could see a security warning like the following one:

    A security warning message box is shown. The following message is at the top of the window. The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? The following information is also provided. The Name of the file. The Publisher. The type of file and where the file originated from There are two buttons with the following labels. Run and Cancel. Below the buttons there is a warning that this file does not have a valid digital signature that verified its publisher.

    If you see this, click Run or Yes.

    For Internet Explorer browser versions 9 and 10, when you double-click the POWERPREP II desktop icon, the following is displayed at the bottom of the page:

    A message box is shown with the following message. Do you want to run or save POWER PREP I I V 2 underscore 2 dot e x e (83.0 MB) from e t s v c m 0 2 dot e t s dot org? There are three buttons with the following labels. Run. Save. Cancel.

    Click Actions to display this popup window:

    The Smart Screen Filer – Windows Internet Explorer warning window is shown. The following message is provided. This program might harm your computer. The publisher and name are provided along with following information. Smart Screen Filter reported that his program is not commonly downloaded and is not signed by its author. If you received this program as an unexpected solicitation, link, or attachment, it might be an attempt to fool you. We recommend that you delete it. There are three options. Don’t run this program (recommended). Delete program and Run anyway.

    Click Run anyway to continue the installation.

    For Internet Explorer browser versions 7, 8, 9 and 10, you might see the User Account Control like the following one.

    The user account control window is shown. The following warning is provided. An unidentified program wants access to your computer. The following information is provided. Don’t run the program unless you know where it’s from or you’ve used it before. Power Prep IIV 2_2 dot e x e. Unidentified Publisher. There are two options. Cancel, I don’t know where this program is from or what it’s for. And, Allow. I trust this program. I know where it’s from or I’ve used it before.

    If you see this, click Allow.

  3. After the setup is prepared, the Welcome page of the POWERPREP II – InstallShield Wizard opens. Click Next to continue.

    The Power Prep II – Install Shield Wizard window is shown. The following information is provided. Welcome to the Install Shield Wizard for Power Prep II. The Install Shield Wizard will install Power Prep II on your computer. To continue, click Next. Three buttons are shown with the following labels. Back, Next and Cancel.

  4. On the End User License Agreement page, carefully review the license agreement and then click I accept the terms of the license agreement to agree to the terms.

    You must accept the terms of the agreement to install the software.

    The Power Prep II – Install Shield Wizard window is shown. The following information is provided. License Agreement. Please read the following license agreement carefully. The Power Prep II Software License Agreement is partially shown. There are two radio buttons below the License Agreement with the following labels. I accept the terms of the license agreement, and I do not accept the terms of the license agreement. Four buttons are shown with the following labels. Print. Back. Next and Cancel.

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the Choose Destination Location page, click Next to install the software in the default location.

    You can click Change to install in another location, but we recommend you install POWERPREP II in the default location (C:\Program Files\ETS\POWERPREP II).

    The Power Prep II – Install Shield Wizard window is shown. The following information is provided. Choose Destination Location. Select folder where setup will install files. Install Power Prep II to. A file path is provided. There are four buttons with the following labels. Change. Back. Next and Cancel.

  7. Click Install.

    A message box shows the progress of the download.

    The Power Prep II – Install Shield Wizard window is shown. The following information is provided. Ready to install the program. The wizard is ready to begin installation. Click Install to begin the installation. If you want to review or change any of your installation settings, click Back. Click Cancel to exit the wizard. There are three buttons with the following labels. Back. Next and Cancel.

  8. When the installation completes, click Finish.

    The Power Prep II – Install Shield Wizard window is shown. The following information is provided. Install Shield Wizard Complete. The Install Shield Wizard has successfully installed Power Prep II. Click Finish to exit the wizard. Three buttons are shown with the following labels. Back, Finish and Cancel.

Start POWERPREP II, Version 2.2 Software

Once you have installed POWERPREP II , you can start the software by following these steps:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs.

  2. Open the POWERPREP II group, and click Launch POWERPREP II.

    The image shows the hierarchy of the Power prep II folder. The following documents appear in the folder. G R E Web Site. Launch Power Prep II. Power Prep II Read Me. Power Prep II Web Site.

  3. When the web browser opens to the POWERPREP II Software page, review the instructions for using the software.

    If a Windows security message appears, right click the message and choose Allow Blocked Content.

    A portion of the Power Prep II web page is shown. There is also a portion of a security message shown. A pop up window with the following options is shown. Allow Blocked content. What’s the Risk and Information Bar Help.

    Once you have successfully opened POWERPREP II, you can delete the installation software. Right click the icon for the installation file on your computer desktop, and click Delete.
