Freelance Item Writing Opportunities
Educational Testing Service (ETS) creates some of the most well-known and widely used educational assessments in the world. As part of this effort, ETS continuously seeks qualified individuals to provide subject-matter expertise across all academic domains and subject areas. ETS is currently seeking subject-matter experts to write and review test items (i.e., test questions and/or tasks) within their area of expertise.
How It Works
Qualified candidates will write and submit items electronically for review by ETS staff members. All training will be provided by experienced ETS test developers, and both the training and test development work can be completed remotely.
Are You a Qualified Applicant?
ETS is seeking applicants across a variety of content fields and testing programs, including:
- Social Studies
- English Language
- English-language Arts
Professional credentials in a content field and prior test development experience is not mandatory.
Individuals with a strong background in the Common Core Standards and drafting test questions that conform to those standards are highly desired. Active K–12 teachers, teacher educators, graduate students and other content experts are also encouraged to apply.
A successful record of freelance writing is desirable.
