High School Assessments

In response to the U.S. Department of Education's (USED) desire to provide funding for high school course assessments, ETS, along with collaborators Pearson and the College Board, have made available to states a white paper titled Designing and Operating a Common High School Assessment System.

The paper addresses the mandate from the USED to focus on college and career readiness (CCR) standards, and how since that is a significant departure from past statewide high school assessments, one of the fundamental decisions to be made is whether the assessment program is built from an end-of-course or end-of-domain framework.
