Data That Enhances Teaching and Learning
In an era that stresses achievement and accountability, ETS recognizes that the data we collect and maintain in the course of operating testing programs may provide a rich source of information for stakeholders.
That's why we developed a Data Explorer tool for the NAEP program that helps users create statistical tables, charts and maps; explore the results of decades of assessment of students' academic performance; and view information about factors that may be related to student learning. We've also designed an ETS Data Manager for The Praxis Series™ assessments. This powerful tool allows Praxis™ state and agency clients to analyze their teacher candidates' aggregated Praxis scores to gain insight into performance and trends, as well as access data that can help guide program improvements.
Much like the state and national testing programs mentioned above, the consortia's assessment systems will need to yield timely data that enhances instruction, accelerates learning and provides accurate information on how its students and schools perform.
We can help the consortia make complex comparisons more accessible to the general public, streamline assessment content and technical information through interactive features and data-visualization tools, and develop programs that allow for the in-depth investigation of data.
ETS works closely with states and the consortia to bring technological innovations to K–12 assessment.
The K–12 Center at ETS offers a variety of resources on the assessment consortia, including summaries of their designs and future plans, videos and presentations.
ETS has assisted the NAEP program in introducing numerous psychometric and assessment design innovations over the years.
