Princeton, N.J. (November 16, 2011) —
Educational Testing Service (ETS) launched a new registration system for The Praxis Series™ assessments on November 7, 2011. The system will offer more than 50 online teacher licensure assessments during the 2011–2012 academic year.
The streamlined registration system provides Praxis™ test takers with the ability to register for and schedule computer-delivered or paper-delivered tests from the same registration site. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the system also allows test takers the convenience of rescheduling or canceling a test from the same site.
"This system enables teacher candidates to conduct searches using either a test name, test code or the name of the state where they want to be certified," said ETS Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Teacher Licensure and Certification Linda Tyler. "Candidates can view and access real-time seat availability for computer-based and paper-based test dates before paying their registration fee."
For those interested in scheduling multiple exams, the system can process up to four registrations and allows payment with credit/debit cards, e-checks and PayPal®.
Additional features of the new registration system include:
- The ability for test takers to view all Praxis tests listed by format, fees, length of time, dates of availability and testing locations
- Seamless score reporting in which candidates can select the same or different recipients for their computer- and paper-delivered tests, and later modify them prior to their test day
Approximately 40 states, territories and organizations trust Praxis to deliver rigorous, research-based teacher licensure programs of the highest quality.

In addition, between November 2011 and July 2012, the Praxis Program is making available via computer delivery more than 50 tests, including some of its most popular titles such as Middle School: Multiple Subjects; Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects; and Principles of Learning and Teaching. In 2012, language teachers can look forward to the Praxis Program's new licensure title, Chinese (Mandarin): World Language, which assesses reading, writing, speaking and listening, and requires candidates to be familiar with traditional and simplified characters as well as pinyin.
With these assessments offered online, ETS's Praxis Program will offer more titles online at more test centers than other national providers. By September 2012, 80 percent of Praxis test takers will be able to take their tests online at more than 400 test centers across the country.
The Praxis Series assessments are the national leader in educator assessment, offering unparalleled portability among states. ETS has more than 60 years of expertise in customizing assessments to meet individual state requirements. With more than 140 educator assessments, ETS covers each state's licensure needs and is the only organization that can assess skills for every educator role in a district, including superintendents, principals, teachers and teachers' assistants.
