ETS offers an innovative web-based data tool for the delivery of custom tables of results from three large-scale literacy assessments:
- International Adult Literacy Survey (IALS)
A large-scale international assessment measuring the prose, document and quantitative literacy skills of adults in 20 countries in three phases from 1994 to 1998.
- Adult Literacy and Lifeskills (ALL) Survey
An international comparative study that measured the literacy and numeracy skills of nationally representative samples from six participating countries: Bermuda, Canada, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and the United States.
- Adult Education Program Survey (AEPS)
A 2003 survey of adult education programs and the literacy and numeracy skills of participants in those programs. A sample of Hispanic adult learners was assessed in English or Spanish to investigate the impact of testing language on literacy performance.
Using the data tool, you can look up data according to survey, proficiency scale, country and a variety of categories, such as education level, demographics, language background and labor force experiences.
