ETS's Senior Vice President of Business Innovation and Growth, Dr. Philip Tabbiner, awarded the scholarship winners with approximately US$158,000 to help them pursue their educational dreams at the undergraduate and graduate school level.

The ETS Scholarship Program in China recognizes TOEFL®, TOEIC ®, and TOEIC Bridge test takers who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership skills, meaningful extracurricular activities and proficiency in English.

Forty-six TOEFL Scholarships, valued at approximately US$83,000, were awarded. Winners represent various locations throughout China, including Nanjing, Shanghai, Guiyang, Beijing, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan, and Liaoning. TOEFL Scholarship winners will be attending higher education institutions globally in Australia, the U.K., Canada and the United States.

The TOEIC Scholarship Program, valued more than US$75,000, honored 80 students, 40 TOEIC and 40 TOEIC Bridge. TOEIC Scholarship winners span across China including Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Liaoning, Fujian, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Shandong and Jiangsu, while TOEIC Bridge winners from Fujian, Hebei, Tianjin, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Hunan.

"ETS is pleased to offer for the third consecutive year the TOEFL and TOEIC Scholarship Program to deserving Chinese students," commented Tabbiner. "Aligned with our nonprofit mission, the scholarships allow the option for students to continue their studies here in China or travel worldwide to meet their educational objectives. Having a strong foundation for the English language offers students an advantage in the global marketplace."

The ETS Scholarship and Recognition Programs group, which annually administers millions of dollars in new and renewable awards in the United States and abroad, has been involved in the coordination of the ETS Scholarship Program in China.
