Princeton, N.J. (March 21, 2011) —
Educational Testing Service (ETS) today announced the launch of its new Data Manager for The Praxis Series™ assessments, a powerful data-analysis tool that allows Praxis™ state and agency clients to analyze their teacher candidates' aggregated Praxis scores to gain insight into performance and trends, and to access data that can help guide program improvements.
"The ETS® Data Manager for The Praxis Series assessments is our latest example of using innovation to provide instant access — anytime, anywhere — to the data necessary for informed decision making," said ETS Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Teacher Licensure and Certification Linda Tyler.
The Data Manager is a dynamic interactive statistical tool provided as a free service to ETS's Praxis clients. Users are guided through four basic steps to create a variety of customized reports and also can quickly download the most commonly requested summary and pass reports. The tool also has sophisticated graphical display capability.
"The tool presents a vast array of data exploration and analysis options," said James Kenyon, Assistant Director, Nevada Department of Education. "Its navigation capabilities make it very user friendly."
Access to the Data Manager is provided via the Internet from a secure website, and is restricted to Praxis state and agency clients. Use of the tool will expand to Praxis institutional clients later this year.
