Beijing, China (October 10, 2011) —
Educational Testing Service (ETS), creator of the TOEFL® test and the GRE® revised General Test, will participate at the upcoming China Education Expo as well as the QS World Grad Tour 2011™ in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Students will be able to speak with ETS representatives to learn more about the two most prominent assessments used to gain admission into institutions of higher education around the world. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about free resources, information and study tools to plan for their academic future.
"The TOEFL and GRE tests are two important criteria for submitting a competitive application to higher education institutions around the world," said David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ETS's Global Division. "ETS is excited to have this opportunity to communicate directly with students in China and provide them with the information they need to complete their admissions assessments."
The TOEFL test measures the ability of nonnative English speakers to use and understand English in a university setting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It provides a fair and objective assessment of a student's ability to listen, read, write and speak in an academic environment.
The GRE revised General Test, which features exciting new changes introduced in August of this year, measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills needed for success in today's demanding graduate and business school programs. With a new test-taker friendly design and new question types, the GRE revised General Test reflects the kind of thinking students will do in school and shows their readiness for graduate-level studies.
