What to Bring on Test Day

You must bring the following documents, information and supplies with you on test day:

A valid ID with your name, signature and photograph. The name on the document(s) must be the same name you used when you registered. ID will be checked before you are admitted.
Your Admission Ticket with your registration number and the codes for the institutions you select as score recipients. See Destination and Department Codes.
Your signed Photo File Record, with a recent, recognizable photo.
3 or 4 sharpened No. 2 or HB pencils and an eraser. Mechanical pencils are not permitted.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the specified start time. If you are late, you may not get in and could lose your test fee.

Acceptable Primary Identification Documents

You must have acceptable and valid identification with your name, recent and recognizable photo and signature to be admitted to a test center.

Testing within your country of citizenship:

Passport with name, photo and signature
Driver's license with name, photo and signature
State or Province ID issued by the motor vehicle agency with name, photo and signature
National ID with name, photo and signature
Military ID with name, photo and signature

Testing outside your country of citizenship:

Passport with name, photo and signature
U.S. military personnel may present their U.S. military ID card with name, photo and signature. If a military ID does not contain your name, photo and signature, a supplemental ID is required.

If your passport is not written in English-language letters you must also present an additional ID from the list of supplemental IDs.

If your passport does not contain your signature, you must present an additional ID.

The following documents are also acceptable for admission but must be accompanied by a supplemental ID that contains your name, photo and/or signature.

Permanent Resident Card/Resident Alien Card (Form I-551 or I-151)
Temporary Resident Card (Form I-688)
Employment Authorization Card (Form I-688A, I-688B or I-766)
Mexican Border Crosser Card (This form of ID is accepted only at test centers within 25 miles of the Mexican border.)

Testing in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan

Only valid passports with name, photo and signature are accepted.

Testing in European Union/Schengen Zone Countries

Valid national or European ID card with name, photo, date of birth and signature

If your ID is not in English-language letters and the test administrator cannot read the language in which it is written or it does not contain your signature, you must present an additional ID from the list of supplemental ID documents that does contain your signature.

Important Note:
If the test administrator has any concerns about the primary ID document or you do not have any of the IDs listed above, you will be required to present an acceptable supplemental ID.
