Join the Conversation about Educational Testing
Visítenos. Conversemos. - En Español
Across the country, the public has sent a message to policymakers: improve schools so that our children have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Policymakers have responded by
- setting rigorous standards and requiring regular, periodic testing of students
- enhancing educational accountability of teachers and schools to improve student achievement
- giving parents the information they need to judge the results for themselves
Making Sense of Standardized Tests
Parents, teachers and others have an ongoing need for information about educational assessments:
- How are tests developed?
- Are tests fair to all students regardless of a student's background?
- How are test results used?
- How can students, teachers and parents improve the test preparation process?
- Do tests improve student learning?
How ETS Is Helping
ETS is sponsoring an online forum about these and other issues related to testing called "Log On. Let's Talk." Through this exchange, we're working to answer your questions about standardized testing. We're also creating a partnership to help everyone use test results for improving every student's academic performance and the educational accountability of schools.
We welcome your participation. Send us your questions, or browse through the index of questions and answers already posted on our website.
Log On. Let's Talk. Together, we can help our kids learn and achieve more.
