Americans Speak

From 2001-2007, ETS commissioned annual, nationwide public opinion surveys to learn what parents, teachers, school leaders and the public think about education in America.

In the most recent survey, Standards, Accountability and Flexibility: Americans Speak on No Child Left Behind Reauthorization, Americans said the No Child Left Behind law should be reauthorized and call for greater flexibility and more funding to fix struggling schools. They also support high standards of accountability, the idea of tying federal funding to accountability requirements, and the development of a set of national standards and tests.
