Choose a certification approach from the list below to obtain additional information and to determine the required Praxis® Subject Assessments you need to take (formerly the Praxis II® tests).
This certification approach is for an individual who holds a valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in a teaching field and is seeking additional Alabama professional certification in selected teaching fields.
These certification approaches are for an individual who is either:
- certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS)
- certified as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist
- licensed as a speech-language pathologist by a state board of examiners in speech pathology and audiology
Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) Accredited School Counseling Program >
This certification approach is for an individual who has completed a master's or educational specialist level CACREP-accredited school counseling program and is seeking professional certification in school counseling.
This certification approach is for an individual who has completed an educator preparation program in another country and is seeking Alabama professional certification.
This certification approach is for an applicant seeking reinstatement of a Professional Educator Certificate or Professional Leadership Certificate.
These approaches do not require Praxis Subject Assessments.
