Kentucky Test Requirements

Find your certification area below to determine which test(s) you need to take. To learn more about a specific test, click the test title. Once you know your test(s), find out how to register for Praxis™ tests and read the Praxis test retake policy.

Note: Paper-delivered tests are offered on specific test administration dates throughout the year. There are two test sessions per day. You may take up to three tests on a given day, depending on the length of each test. You can find test lengths and overviews at the Test at a Glance (TAAG) links below. Most tests are offered in both Session 1 and Session 2. Refer to the fees page for tests that are restricted to a particular session. Not all tests are offered on each administration date. Please plan ahead by checking the Test Date Exceptions table.

Note: Computer-delivered tests are offered through a network of Prometric™ Testing Centers. Computer-delivered tests are given by appointment. Visit Test Centers and Dates to find testing centers near you. Not all computer-delivered tests are offered continuously. Please plan ahead by checking the Computer-delivered Tests page. Ready to register? Register online with credit/debit card, eCheck or PayPal™.

Unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is permitted or required for a particular test, calculators may not be used on any Praxis tests (see Calculator Use.)

Note: test codes that begin with "5" are delivered in computer format; codes that begin with "0" are delivered on paper. All tests are paper-delivered tests unless otherwise noted.
