Princeton, N.J (October 19, 2009) —
Educational Testing Service and Pearson Higher Education last week launched The PRAXIS SERIES™ Principles of Learning and Teaching Online Tutorial; the first in what will be a series of tutorials for Praxis tests that provide both test preparation and test remediation. Other tutorials will follow.
The PRAXIS SERIES Principles of Learning and Teaching Online Tutorial has been carefully constructed to help teacher candidates prepare for and pass The Praxis Series: Principles of Learning and Teaching Tests in order to obtain their teaching license. The easy-to-navigate interactive tutorial provides a wealth of sample test items along with extensive content overviews and interactive exercises to help candidates master the content covered on the exam.
"We want to provide our teacher candidates with the resources they need to ensure their success," ETS Vice President and COO for Teacher Licensure and Certification Linda Tyler says. "This tutorial is significant because in addition to review and practice materials, it offers substantial multimedia instructional resources in areas where teacher candidates may need deeper study."
The robust, online tutorial offers unique study features that no other Praxis test preparation provides, including:
- Practice tests written by ETS, the authors of the Principles of Learning and Teaching exams
- Comprehensive coverage of the concepts, theories, & theorists tested on the exam
- Software that analyzes performance on practice tests and develops an individualized study plan
- Writing assistance that scaffolds development of constructed responses to classroom cases
- A multimedia presentation of content for a truly interactive tutorial experience with rich, detailed feedback
Furthermore, the tutorial also offers individualized study plans that show candidates where they are strong, and where they need more in-depth study.
ETS is supplying the tutorial test items and test preparation content, and Pearson is supplying the remediation content and learning platform.
The product will be sold by Pearson to individuals, institutions, college bookstores and retail bookstores. For more information or to purchase the tutorial, please visit www.praxistutorial.com.
