Princeton, N.J. (October 8, 2009) —
Test takers and universities waiting for Praxis™ test results from the July 13 administration were pleased to receive their scores for Praxis paper-based, multiple-choice tests much faster than they might have expected. The Praxis program has reduced the time taken to report Praxis scores from 22 business days to 17 business days.
The decreased turnaround time is part of a greater effort to enhance the Praxis program's service to customers. The program is also working on reducing the turnaround time for the constructed response portion of the assessment.
"Faster score reporting had been a longstanding desire of Praxis test takers," Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Teacher Licensure and Certification Linda Tyler says. "We are proud to be able to quickly adapt to and meet the needs of our clients."
Under the leadership of Executive Director Pat Santiago, the Praxis program has placed a great deal of emphasis on improving test- taker support over the past several years. Registration services have been streamlined, test preparation materials are now available in multiple formats, personalized service is the focus of a free webinar series for Praxis test takers, and online score reports are now made available through the Praxis Web site.
In an effort to support teacher candidates and help them succeed, ETS offers free preparation materials for every test; additional study guides, e-books, and retired practice tests; several different workshops for faculty and candidates; and free webinars for Praxis I® Study Plan Development.
ETS successfully reported over 51,000 multiple-choice test results in the reduced timeframe for the July 2009 administration and has operationalized the process for the 2009 – 2010 testing year.
"Our ability to report scores faster sends a clear message to our clients and our customers that we take their requests and feedback seriously," Santiago says.
ETS maintains an unparalleled commitment to stand by its products and stand with its clients and customers. Furthermore, ETS's unrivaled national testing capacity, as well as the capability to customize content, makes it possible to deliver the highest quality assessments measuring skills that are aligned to current standards. In addition, ETS's Praxis assessments are continuously updated to remain current with 21st-century skills, providing evidence that teacher candidates possess the necessary knowledge to lead tomorrow's classrooms today.
