Wisconsin Test Requirements

Most tests are offered in both Session 1 and Session 2. Refer to the fees page for tests that are restricted to a particular session.
In general, unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is permitted or required for a particular test, calculators may not be used on any Praxis tests (see Calculator Use).
Notes:
- In general, test codes that begin with "5" are delivered in computer format; codes that begin with "0" are delivered on paper.
- "CDT" refers to computer-delivered tests. "PDT" refers to paper-delivered tests.
Tests Required for All Licensure Areas
If you wish to take all three computer-delivered Praxis I® exams (5710, 5720, 5730) at the same time, select Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Test: Combined Test (5750) when registering. Scores will be reported by individual test (5710, 5720, 5730).

Tests Required for Educators Adding a Second License Based on a Content Test
As of December 2010, Wisconsin educators who hold a valid Professional Educator license in social studies, science, English language arts and mathematics/computer science are eligible to add on licensure in a related area based on passing a content test approved by the State Superintendent.
To apply for a license in this pathway, a Professional Educator must hold a valid Wisconsin Professional Educator License (License Type: 30, 31, 32, 33, 36, 40, 41, 42 or 43), Master Educator License (License Type: 50, 51 or 52) or Life License (License Type: 08) in the related subject area (see below).
