David Osher

David Osher is a Vice President, AIR Institute Fellow, and co-Director of the Human and Social Development Program at AIR. He has conducted extensive research on positive behavioral support, social emotional learning, support school discipline, school climate, the conditions for learning, mental health services, and cultural competence as well as their relationship to academic achievement. Osher has authored or co-authored more than 330 publications and is principal investigator of major centers and research projects, including the National Center on Safe and Supportive Learning Environments and the new National Clearinghouse on Supportive School Discipline. Osher, who served as an academic dean of a liberal arts college and two professional schools of human services, received all of his degrees from Columbia University.
