Revised Versions of Conference Handouts Now Available
Attached are revised versions of two documents that were distributed at the 2010 Praxis Client Conference. Since there are a few important date changes, please disregard the old versions and use the attached documents.
The major changes include:
- April 2011 Test Administration date changed from April 23rd to April 30th.
- Standard setting date was removed for Special Education: Teaching Students with Language Impairments. The statistical analysis area has reviewed the regeneration plans and confirmed a standard setting study is not necessary.
- Standard setting date changed (from September 2010 to October 2010) for English Language, Literature, and Composition: Content and Analysis.
Annual Website Updates Coming Soon
Information for the upcoming 2010 – 2011 testing year, including updated state requirements, registration information and test preparation will be available on the ets.org/praxis website sometime in late July. The Praxis Program will alert clients as soon as that information is available.
Scale Score Changes
As you may recall from the recent Praxis Client Conference session on "Test Regeneration", we are moving three assessments from the older NTE scale to the newer and more commonly used Praxis score scale (100-200) in the upcoming testing year 2010 – 2011.
The new test(s) will also have new test code numbers in the 2010 – 2011 testing year. These changes will NOT require standard setting studies.
- Teaching Students with Visual Impairments 0280 becomes test code 0281
- English to Speakers of Other Languages 0360 becomes test code 0361
- Educational Leadership: Administration & Supervision 0410 becomes test code 0411
If you currently use one of these tests, your Client Relations Director will be contacting you with the new score for your state. The Praxis Program will make the required changes on the ets.org/praxis website, including your state page for the 2010 – 2011 testing year. We ask that you incorporate these changes in your communications to candidates and stakeholders as appropriate.
Title II Update
ETS continues to work with Westat and the U.S. Department of Education as we prepare to roll out our new Title II data collection website in two phases:
- Phase One: The site will open to state agency users in early July for the review and approval of state tests and licenses
- Phase Two: The site will be available to Institutions of Higher Education to view match results in mid October – mid December
Users can expect many new modifications designed to make the reporting experience easier and more user-friendly, including:
- Online verification form submission
- Automatic e-mail reminders
- Option to upload student data directly to site
- Simplified view of match results for verification
- User-friendly report for resolution period
- Reports available online for three years
- Links to Westat website for law-related inquiries
- Automatic e-mail to state coordinator for licensure-related inquiries
