Narrator: Joanna Wrzesinska, ETS Propell® Trainer: My name is Joanna Wrzesinska, I'm from Poland and I'm an ETS approved Propell® trainer for the TOEFL iBT® test. The TOEFL iBT test is part of the TOEFL® Family of Assessments which helps teachers assess the language skills of learners of various ages at various proficiency levels. What I like about the test as a teacher myself is that when you prepare the students for the test, you prepare them for the challenges of academic life and for everyday use of the English language. That's why we say the TOEFL iBT test measures integrated skills.

Narrator: Ayako Yokogawa, English Teacher, Japan: TOEFL iBT measures four skills. Reading, listening, speaking and writing.

Narrator: Shih-chi (Sunny) Wu, English Teacher, Taiwan: The TOEFL iBT is accepted by more institutions around the world, so my students choose TOEFL iBT as their assessment.

Narrator: Joanna Wrzesinska, ETS Propell® Trainer: There is nothing else like it out there. The TOEFL iBT test stands alone.

Narrator: Joanna Wrzesinska, ETS Propell® Trainer: ETS is committed to giving teachers as many possible resources as they can, in order to assist them with test preparation, but also in preparing their students for everyday academic life. ETS is offering the Propell workshop in several countries where teachers can participate in this teacher development workshop, during which they can not only understand the scoring of the test, but how they can assist their students and learn more about the test itself and learning objectives that are needed for academic studies. For me, the most rewarding thing about being the Propell trainer is the ability to meet with teachers from all over the world to see how passionate they are about their job.

More resources to help you in the classroom]

Narrator: Joanna Wrzesinska, ETS Propell® Trainer: The best way for the teachers to prepare their students for the TOEFL iBT test is to use the official resources. We want to make sure that you get the support you need in preparing your students for the TOEFL iBT test. There are a number of resources available all free to use like the sample questions, TOEFL iBT® Quick Prep, the TOEFL iBT® Student Planner and the video library. The series I particularly like is called the Inside the TOEFL® Test. Each video within Inside the TOEFL Test contains test taking strategies and it helps understand what the writing and speaking sections are about. The TOEFL iBT Student Planner contains an actual eight week preparation plan, various tips and activities, and sample questions. Some of the other resources that we have available are Official TOEFL® Test with Audio, The Official Guide to the TOEFL® Test, the TOEFL® Online Prep Course, TOEFL® Practice Online. What's great about TOEFL Practice Online is that it actually measures all the four language skills and gives a score from zero to thirty points for each section.

Narrator: Pablo Garcia Gomez, ETS Assessment Specialist: I can say that one of our best assets at ETS is the quality of resources that we have.

Narrator: Pablo Garcia Gomez, ETS Assessment Specialist: One of our premises at ETS is that we always want to learn. Learn from others, especially from educators uh around the world.

Narrator: Shih-chi (Sunny) Wu, English Teacher, Taiwan I would be a different person, different teacher after I finished this training.

Narrator: Joanna Wrzesinska, ETS Propell® Trainer: What's rewarding about what I do is that the students that take the TOEFL iBT test get to the university of their choice, so that is using TOEFL for admissions. I've learned that the language assessment is not only the end of the learning process, it's actually a beginning into entire new adventure.
