First Propell® Workshop in Scotland

ETS conducted its first ever Propell® Workshop for the TOEFL iBT® test in Edinburgh, Scotland in April. The six hour workshop was delivered by Stella Saliari from the ETS Global BV office.

The Propell Workshop is led in an interactive, hands-on approach to developing a TOEFL iBT curriculum with scoring explanations, learning strategies, activity books, a complete practice test, CD-ROM and more. Additionally, the workshop offers instructional techniques and strategies using an integrated-skills approach to teaching English-language learners.

"We were very happy with the Propell workshop. It was well organized and the pace was good. I found it particularly helpful to use the assessment rubrics to grade speaking and writing tasks. In fact I've decided to convert the analytic descriptors we've been using for marking coursework and exams to holistic descriptors as I think these are easier and more accessible for teachers and students."
