Bai Jie, host of "OMG! Meiyu," as special guest at CEE student fairs

Bai Jie, host of "OMG! Meiyu," appeared as a special guest for the TOEFL® program at the China Education Expo (CEE) which took place October 20–28 in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai. Bai Jie met with fans and signed autographs.

For more than a year, Chinese netizens have been turning to Bai Jie's viral daily web show "OMG! Meiyu" on the Chinese social media site Sina Weibo. In each daily web-based episode, Bai Jie uses Mandarin to teach American slang and culture to her young Chinese audience. Produced from her one-bedroom apartment in New York City, Bai Jie's unconventional teaching style has helped her garner 15 million video hits in just over one year. "OMG! Meiyu" is followed by more than 300,000 Chinese students, all of whom have the chance to shape the daily "OMG! Meiyu" content through comments and online feedback.

"Learning English can be a productive and enjoyable experience," commented Pamela Treves, Director of the TOEFL Brand. "Bai Jie has a unique gift in educating and connecting with Chinese students as they master the English language. We are delighted that Bai Jie was our special guest at the CEE fairs."
