For accreditation purposes, educators at Hinds Community College needed a valid, reliable assessment to capture students' evaluations of their learning experiences. Administrators chose the SIR II™ survey to evaluate course effectiveness at the course, program and institutional levels, and they have been using the SIR II survey for four years. In 2006 alone, 9,000 students completed more than 40,000 evaluations. When it came time to document faculty effectiveness for accreditation, Hinds was ready with the data.
