Record 10,000 Organizations Worldwide Now Use The TOEIC® Tests

The record-breaking increase demonstrates the investment in English communication to advance business opportunities overseas

In the 30 years since ETS first launched the TOEIC® tests, the program has become a testament to the growing interest in developing the English communication skills needed to compete in a global marketplace. This year the TOEIC tests will be used by a record 10,000 organizations to screen candidates for job placement and promotion, and track the progress of students, employees and executives learning English.

ETS, working with its broad network of ETS Preferred offices, has added Eli Lilly, CAMCO, the University of Macau, NEC Logistics and Vietnam Air Navigation Services Corp. to the list of 10,000 organizations now using the TOEIC tests. These organizations join an existing group of TOEIC test and score users that have benefited from this assessment for many years, including: Accenture, China Southern Airlines, LG Electronics and Motorola Electronics Co., Ltd.

The TOEIC tests, first administered in Japan, are now used in 120 countries across regions of Europe, Latin America, the Pacific, Middle East, Asia and North America. ETS has seen significant growth in the number of retail, technology and industrial corporations using the TOEIC tests as a tool to increase business opportunities in overseas markets. There has also been a marked increase in TOEIC test administrations at educational organizations, including universities and vocational schools seeking to prepare their students with the skills necessary for today's global workplace. Similarly, the TOEIC tests have been adopted by government agencies and organizations worldwide to assess the English language proficiency of personnel and residents.
