At ETS, we hire and support veterans as well as active Guard and Reserve members, and we recognize their contributions. We value our military employees and the excellent skills, attitudes and work ethic they bring to ETS. View ETS's Affirmative Action Policy for Veterans and Persons with Disabilities.
ETS works with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure that our employment positions are posted on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website. In addition to job listings, the department website also offers career advice, resources for families of veterans, information about training events and more.
Garland Cochrane served in the United States Armed Forces (Army) for 10 years prior to joining ETS. He served on various tours in Oklahoma, Hawaii, Thailand and New Jersey. Recently, Garland has been actively involved with recruiting fellow veterans for job placement within ETS. Currently an Operations Manager in Test Taker Services, he is enrolled in the ETS/Northeastern University Advanced Project Management Program and received a bachelor's degree from Cairn University in May 2013. "ETS has the organizational capability and social mission that support veterans with continued development and opportunities for job placement," says Cochrane. "ETS is an ideal company for veterans to transition from soldier to the civilian workforce."
ETS has been awarded twice by the New Jersey Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (NJ-ESGR).
- In 2012, we received the Above and Beyond Award, which recognizes New Jersey employers who have exceeded the legal requirements for granting leave and providing support for military employees.
- In 2013, we received the Seven Seals Award for our ongoing support of ETS staff active in the military.
All NJ-ESGR awards originate from nominations by individual Reserve component members.
