Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at ETS

Creating a Culture of Belonging

Our Position on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)

Our mission

To cultivate an environment where all employees feel valued, respected and supported, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or any other dimension of diversity.

We strive to foster an inclusive workplace at all levels of the organization, reflective of the rich diversity of our stakeholders, in a collaborative and innovative way to help ETS achieve its mission. The community we create will embrace and nurture the growth and development of our employees, ensuring equitable access to opportunities for career advancement and professional success.

Through our commitment to diversity, we aim to break down barriers, challenge biases and promote equal opportunities across all spectrums of diversity. We recognize that true equity requires intentional actions to dismantle systemic barriers and address historic inequities.

Our vision

For each staff member to feel comfortable and empowered to bring their complete self to work every day, secure in the knowledge that what makes them unique will be welcomed, embraced and appreciated, and that their work experience will be free from bias and discrimination.

We strive to be catalysts for change, inspiring and influencing other organizations to prioritize and champion diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. ETS’s workplaces will cultivate a deep sense of belonging, fostering collaboration, innovation and personal growth. Our vision extends beyond mere representation and compliance; we aim to create a cultural shift that permeates all aspects of life, creating lasting and sustainable change.

Our values

Our aspiration is to create a sense of belonging, both within our organization and within the communities we serve, where people from all walks of life come together, united by a shared commitment to promote learning, excellence in performance, and wholehearted support for education and professional development for all people worldwide.

We must continually strive to grow and change to become our best selves by:

  • having shared responsibility and accountability for creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture at all levels
  • having respect for and valuing individual differences, diverse thought, diverse culture and diverse experience
  • taking responsibility for our own actions and outcomes
  • having the courage to speak up when you encounter bias and disrespectful treatment
  • actively engaging in making diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging a part of our everyday work
