In the interest of students' health and safety, ETS and the Chinese National Education Examinations Authority (NEEA) have canceled GRE® testing in Mainland China through the end of March. Test registrations will be automatically canceled, and fees will be returned to test takers' NEEA accounts so that they can proceed with the reschedule process. Test takers originally scheduled for February and March testing will be able to register for a later date at no charge.
In the meantime, ETS is working with on-the-ground partners in China to ensure that test seats will be available once the government gives the go-ahead to proceed, including adding test dates in April and May. We will communicate the additional test dates as soon as they are available.
In addition, ETS will continue to provide all affected test takers with free access to the ScoreItNow!™ Online Writing Practice Service. It is a web-based service through which they can sharpen their writing skills as they prepare for the Analytical Writing measure of the GRE® General Test. Students in China can obtain the code by checking the Official GRE General Test social communities on Weibo and WeChat.
To keep institutions informed during this rapidly developing situation, ETS has created a webpage that provides the latest information and other resources to graduate programs and institutions. We recommend bookmarking www.ets.org/gre/cv-update for future reference.
ETS and the GRE Program will continue to closely follow this ongoing public health situation. We are committed to the health and safety of the public while supporting test takers and universities with accurate and timely information.
