As both experts in educational research and assessment and your colleagues in the graduate and professional education community, we recognize that developing an effective holistic admissions process for graduate admissions is a complex task. That is why we are curating and sharing promising practices — based on recent ETS research and interviews with faculty and staff at 58 graduate programs conducted with the support of the GRE® Board — for current admissions practices, test use and the challenges facing those involved in the admissions process. Some of these practices were identified from existing research literature on graduate admissions, while others were shared with ETS staff by deans and faculty at institutions that have implemented similar practices.
We hope you will find these practices both inspiring and helpful as you consider your program's admissions practices and needs.
