iSkills™ Certificates of Achievement
Recently published ETS research confirms that students’ motivation in taking learning outcomes assessments has a significant impact on their test performance. In order to help you motivate students to perform their best and increase participation, ETS has introduced performance-level certificates for students taking the iSkills™ assessment. These new certificates can provide students with motivation to do well, which ultimately helps institutions to better position themselves for accreditation and performance funding. Plus, since these certificates are electronic, students can share them with an unlimited number of recipients in academia and beyond.
The certificates show successful completion of the assessment and also categorize scores in three different performance levels to show the kinds of tasks that can commonly be performed by test takers in each score range.
Certificates are available for qualifying scores on the iSkills™ assessment as shown below:
- Developing ICT Literacy (Total score range 130–250)
- Foundational ICT Literacy (Total score range 260–340)
- Advanced ICT Literacy (Total score range 350–500)
Each performance level is clearly defined on the certificate and includes a detailed explanation of the student’s levels of strength in the various task areas defined by the ICT literacy framework.
Students who qualify for a certificate will receive an email notification with instructions for retrieving the certificate from the iSkills Student Portal.
Students will need to log in to the iSkills Student Portal using the User ID/User Name and Password established when taking the assessment. If the student has forgotten their password, the web page includes a link that can be used to retrieve the password. Once logged into the student portal, students can:
- View their score report
- View their certificate (if applicable)
- Save/print a PDF version of the certificate
