ETS's TOEIC Program Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with F1 Hire

Princeton, N.J. (February 21, 2024) – ETS’s TOEIC Program announced today a collaboration with F1 Hire, a staffing and career management organization specializing in matching international students with H1 visas to mid-size U.S. employers.

Through this strategic relationship, ETS and F1 Hire aim to increase the competitiveness and employability of these students by connecting them with job opportunities through F1 Hire’s unique AI-powered platform, especially those that require the use of TOEIC scores, a global standard of measurement for English communication in the workplace.

F1 Hire maintains a suite of functionalities designed to streamline the job-seeking process, including insights into companies’ sponsorship history; resume-building tools; application tracking management; and more. ETS’s reputable TOEIC tests are used by more than 14,000 organizations across 160+ countries to inform decisions related to the English-language skills needed to succeed in a professional setting.

The U.S. job market can be particularly challenging to navigate for international students. According to F1 Hire’s International Talent Friendliness Index (ITFI), less than 1.6% of job openings in the US job market are friendly to international students, while 12% reject those that require sponsorship. This collaboration aims to help these future job seekers overcome these challenges, by working with them to identify and bridge their skill gaps; tailor their career paths; and stand out confidently with their knowledge and experience.

In the short term, the goal of this relationship is to assist the F1 Hire job applicants in providing evidence to potential employers about their English proficiency. In the long term, there is the potential to expand the use of this strategic relationship to other disciplines within the Workforce including potential job applicants outside of the US.
