Adding a Content Area to an Existing License by Testing
Special Alert: Beginning June 1, 2014, Indiana will no longer accept Praxis® Subject Assessments (formerly the Praxis II® tests) for licensure purposes unless the test was taken and passed by May 31, 2014, with the exception of the Health Education (5551) and Physical Education: Content Knowledge (5091) tests.
Beginning September 1, 2015, the Praxis Subject Assessments in Health and Physical Education will no longer be accepted unless the test was taken and passed by August 31, 2015.
The following tests are the only approved tests for adding a content area to an existing license.
If you test in Indiana, a copy of your Praxis scores will automatically be sent to the state's educator credentialing agency.
Find your licensure area below to determine which test(s) you need to take and see the minimum qualifying score(s). To learn more about a specific test, click the test title. Once you’ve determined your testing requirements, find out how to register for Praxis tests and read the Praxis test retake policy.
In general, unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is permitted or required for a particular test, calculators may not be used on any Praxis tests (see Calculator Use).
