Find your licensure area below to determine which test you need to take and to see the minimum qualifying score. To learn more about a specific test, click the test title. Once you know your test(s), find out how to register for the Praxis® tests and read the Praxis test retake policy.
Kansas requires a passing score from one of the four Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) assessments and the appropriate content assessment(s) for the initial educator license. You should choose the most appropriate PLT test for your level of licensure or level of specialization.
In general, unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is permitted or required for a particular test, calculators may not be used on any Praxis tests (see Calculator Use).
For information on becoming highly qualified, visit the Kansas Department of Education site.
Adding a new licensure endorsement requires a passing score on the appropriate content assessment.
- If you test in Kansas at a testing center or using the Praxis at home solution, and your Praxis profile address is in Kansas, your score report will be sent automatically to the Kansas Department of Education. You may select up to three recipients at no charge during registration or purchase additional score reports after you test.
- If you test outside Kansas or your Praxis profile address is not in Kansas, your scores are NOT automatically sent to the Kansas Department of Education. To have your scores sent to the Kansas Department of Education, you must select the Kansas Department of Education (state code 7270) as a score recipient when you register.
- For all methods of Praxis testing, to request additional score reports you must select the Kansas Department of Education (state code 7270) with each additional score report request.
