In general, unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is permitted or required for a particular test, calculators may not be used on any Praxis tests (see Calculator Use).
If you test in Louisiana at a testing center or using the Praxis at home solution, and your Praxis profile address is in Louisiana, your score report will be sent automatically to the Louisiana Department of Education.
If you test outside Louisiana or your Praxis profile address is not in Louisiana, your scores are NOT automatically sent to the Louisiana Department of Education. To have your scores sent to the Louisiana Department of Education, you must select the Louisiana Department of Education (state code 7330) as a score recipient when you register.
For all methods of Praxis testing, to request additional score reports you must select the Louisiana Department of Education (state code 7330) with each additional score report request.
Tests Required for All Licensure Areas
Teacher candidates in all content areas must pass all three Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) tests.
State Board Approved Options:
Effective September 1, 2006: An ACT® composite score of 22 or an SAT® combined verbal/critical reading and math score of 1100 or higher may be used in lieu of Core exams by prospective teachers in Louisiana.
Alternate-route candidates admitted to a Louisiana alternative educator preparation program with an earned master's degree from a regionally accredited institution may be exempt from the Core admission requirement.
If you wish to take all three computer-delivered Core Academic Skills for Educators tests (5713, 5723, 5733) at the same time, select Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5752) when registering. Scores will be reported by individual test (5713, 5723, 5733).
* To pass the Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects test you must receive a passing score on each subtest. If you wish to take all four subtests (5002, 5003, 5004, 5005) at the same time, select Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001) when registering. If you wish to take or retake an individual subtest, you may register to take just that subtest.
* To pass the Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects test you must receive a passing score on each subtest. If you wish to take all four subtests (5002, 5003, 5004, 5005) at the same time, select Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001) when registering. Middle School Education Grades 4–8
Middle School Education Grades 4–8 teacher candidates must pass the Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 5–9 test (5623) and any one or combination of the Middle School subject-specific tests.

Secondary Education Grades 6–12 teacher candidates must pass the Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7–12 test (5624) and any one or combination of the Secondary Education subject-specific tests.
Social Studies: Content and Interpretation Note: The Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) policy allows the passing score of 153 to be accepted for tests taken beginning January 1, 2019.
Teacher candidates for All K–12 Teaching Certificates must pass one Principles of Learning and Teaching test (5622 or 5623 or 5624) and any one or combination of the All Grades subject-specific tests.
