As of September 1, 2013, the Ohio Assessments for Educators replaced many of the Praxis Subject Assessments as the required Ohio educator licensure tests. If you are a new candidate for teacher certification, please visit the Ohio Department of Education website for further information.
If you test in Ohio at a test center or at home, and your Praxis profile address is in Ohio, your score report will be sent automatically to the Ohio Department of Education.
If you test outside Ohio or your Praxis profile address is not in Ohio, your scores are NOT automatically sent to the Ohio Department of Education. To have your scores sent to the Ohio Department of Education, you must select the Ohio Department of Education (state code 7945) as a score recipient when you register.
For all methods of Praxis testing, to request additional score reports you must select the Ohio Department of Education (state code 7945) with each additional score report request.
Who must take the educator licensure tests?
As of September 1, 2013, teacher candidates or other professional educators wishing to become licensed must take either the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) tests, the Praxis tests or a combination of OAE and Praxis tests. Please visit the Ohio Department of Education website to determine which test(s), whether an OAE, a Praxis test or a combination of both, is required for your licensure area.
