About the Test

The Elementary Education Assessment test consists of two subtests—Elementary Education: Reading and Language Arts & Social Studies, and Elementary Education: Mathematics and Science. The Elementary Education: Reading and Language Arts & Social Studies subtest consists of 95 test questions that are based on The Standards for the English Language Arts, published by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the International Literacy Association (ILA), and social studies content standards developed by the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).

The Elementary Education: Mathematics and Science subtest consists of 85 questions that are based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards, the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) standards, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

An on-screen, four-function calculator is provided for the computer-delivered test. Please consult the web page Praxis Calculator Use for further information and review the directions for using the on-screen calculator. This test may contain some questions that will not count toward your score.
