ETS® Proficiency Profile Comparative Data

Comparative Data Guides Available for Both Proctored and Unproctored Administrations!

Comparative data lets you compare the scores and proficiency classifications of your students with those of a large group of students at other institutions.

Proctored Administrations

The comparative data tables below are based on administrations of ETS® Proficiency Profile in proctored environments. Statistics are provided by institution type and class level (freshman, sophomore, etc.).

(Carnegie classification — Doctoral/Research Universities I and II, Master’s (Comprehensive) Colleges and Universities I and II and Baccalaureate (Liberal Arts) Colleges I and II)

(Carnegie classification — Associate’s Colleges)

(Carnegie classification — Specialized Institutions)

Unproctored Administrations (All Students)

The comparative data provided below is based on administrations of the ETS Proficiency Profile using forms approved for administration in an unproctored environment. Note that the use of a non-proctored form does not necessarily occur only in distance learning environments. Campus-based programs often administer unproctored versions of ETS Proficiency Profile as a matter of convenience. Because of the limited number of students taking unproctored versions of the test to date, these comparative data tables cannot be parsed into separate reporting groups by institution type or class level.

To achieve a more specific reference group for your institution’s analyses, you may consider the Custom Comparative Data Report.

Essay (All Students)

Because of the limited number of students taking the ETS Proficiency Profile essay to date, these comparative data tables cannot be parsed into separate reporting groups by institution type or class level.
