Ching-Ni Hsieh is a research scientist at ETS. She earned a Ph.D. in second language studies from Michigan State University in 2011. Her research at ETS has focused on the areas of test development and validation, assessing young language learners, speaking assessment, automated feedback, and technology-enhanced language teaching and assessment. She has published journal articles, book chapters, and technical reports. She has served as a reviewer for Language Testing, Language Assessment Quarterly, TESOL Quarterly, Modern Language Journal, and Computer Assisted Language Learning. Ching-Ni is a member of the International Language Testing Association. She has reviewed proposals for several international conferences and served as a conference organizer for the Language Testing Research Colloquium and the China Association for Language Testing and Assessment. Her recent research interests include mapping test scores to local language proficiency standards and the use of artificial intelligence–powered technology to provide automated feedback and create language learning solutions for learners of English as a foreign language.
