Michelle P. Martin-Raugh

Michelle Martin-Raugh was a research scientist in the Research & Development division at ETS until April 2022. She received her Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology in 2013 from Rice University. After joining ETS in 2013, her research focused on measuring and developing critical competencies using innovative methodologies in the context of the workplace, higher education, and teaching. She was primarily interested in the assessment and development of soft skills using novel assessment methodologies. While at ETS, she led multiyear, interdisciplinary research around the development of interactive, virtual assessments of collaborative problem-solving (CPS), negotiation skills, video-based assessments of oral communication skills, automatically scored video-based employment interviews, cross-cultural competence, situational judgment tests (SJTs), and content knowledge for teachers. Additionally, she led numerous research activities to support teacher programs, represented ETS at numerous conferences, and disseminated and served as an editor for research in peer-reviewed journals.
