Jeff Ackley is the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Item Development science coordinator in the ETS Research Institute. His primary responsibilities have included oversight of NAEP science assessment development and scoring activities, transitioning the NAEP science pool to a digitally based assessment, and collaboration on various research studies. At ETS, Jeff has also worked on several national and state assessments along with their committees. These programs include College Board assessments such as the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre-AP programs, as well as California and Maryland state assessments. Before joining ETS in 2013, Jeff spent 11 years teaching high school biology and environmental science. Jeff earned his M.Ed. in secondary science education and B.S. in biology from George Washington University.
