Laura Jerry is a principal data analysis and computational research specialist in the ETS Research Institute. She received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from Mount Holyoke College in 1990, at which time she began her professional career at ETS.
She has been involved with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) since 1992, with increasing responsibilities over the years. She leads the effort to ensure the quality of the demographic data across all subject areas for NAEP. Notably, she is responsible for analyses related to students with disabilities and English learners. In addition, she coordinates the quality assurance activities for data reporting products, including the Nation’s Report Card, the NAEP Data Explorer, and the State Report Generator. She also plays a major role in the quality control and plausibility analyses presented to National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
For many years, she has been heavily involved in issues regarding inclusion and accommodation on NAEP. She is also the leading data analyst on the NAEP survey questionnaires.
