Michael Suhan is a research project manager in the ETS Research Institute. He received an M.A. in teaching English as a second language (ESL) from Northern Arizona University in 2017 where he also taught English composition. Prior to joining ETS, he worked as an English instructor in South Korea, Vietnam, Oman, and Turkey. Michael has taught English as a second language at Mercer County Community College and at a community ESL program for immigrants and refugees in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Michael joined ETS after consulting as a content-development specialist on projects supporting the TOEFL and TOEIC lines of business. He has since contributed to the research and development of new assessments in the TOEFL family, teacher training courses, automatic item generation systems, automatic scoring and feedback systems, and simulated teaching experiences.
