Vivek Gupta

Vivek Gupta is a lead subject matter expert at ETS India. He provides academic support to the establishment of Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH): the National Assessment Centre established as a constituent unit of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In the course of his work, Vivek has supported several initiatives of PARAKH, including large-scale assessment programs, studies on the equivalence of educational boards, the development of national assessment frameworks, and the dissemination of research findings at national and state levels. He has contributed to the preparation of research-based and policy-aligned technical documents supporting ongoing assessment reforms in India. He has also been involved in the development of guidelines for the standardization of question paper templates to promote greater consistency and comparability in summative assessments across educational boards. His engagements have included areas such as item development, principles of validity and reliability in assessment design, and approaches to formative and competency-based assessment. He has co-authored chapters and has presented papers at national and international forums related to educational assessment and reform. Vivek holds a master’s in physics and in education and brings over a decade of experience in the education sector.
